EUROGI towards New Challenges and Visions

In the beginning of April EUROGI celebrated its 25 year anniversary with two events. On 5 April a one day event “Horizon 2030 – Visions and Challenges in GI” has been held where where representatives of European Commission and stakeholders of our members community discussed current challenges and opportunities of the GI sector. The day after, on 6 April, 36th General Board meeting of EUROGI has been held, where seven members of EUROGI Executive Committee have been elected. Facing the significant changes and developments of the European GI landscape, the General Board decided to initiate the development of a new strategy for EUROGI’s work. Based on the input provided by EUROGI members during the last year and a structured consultation of EUROGI members and selected European GI stakeholders within the upcoming six months, a dedicated task team will define a strategy to support the European GI community leveraging the ongoing rapid developments and to jointly shape our community’s future. The process will be lead by the re-elected vice-president Andreas Wytzisk, who has also been appointed to be the new president of EUROGI.
