“The project GeoConnectGR or, INSPIRE from theory to practice”
November 8, 2019, 12:00 - 18:00 UTC+1
At this conference, the results of the pilot project GeoConnectGR, which was selected in the first b-solutions project call, will be discussed. The project is run by the Cadastre and Cartography Working Group, the GIS of the Greater Region (GIS-GR) and the Summit Secretariat of the Greater Region.
The GeoConnectGR project has created a harmonized cartography for the entire Greater Region on the pilot topic of water networks. This cartography is accessible to everyone and
may be used for non-commercial purposes. The GeoConnectGR project should sometimes determine whether such an approach is applicable to other issues.
The Inspire Directive entered into force on 15 May 2007. The national and regional surveying and cadastral offices were instructed to supervise the application of the directive. The Results of the GeoConnectGR project will provide an opportunity to look at progress in the harmonization of official pan-European data as well as challenges to the implementation deadline of the Inspire Directive on 10 December 2021.
The speakers will discuss the development of the Directive, its implementation, the GeoConnectGR project and the exploitation of the results by the GIS-GR.
Before the meeting, a press conference will be held to briefly present the results achieved, which will subsequently be discussed. The press conference will also provide an opportunity to discuss the work of the cadastre and cartography workgroup of the Greater Region Summit and, in particular, the Greater Region 2020 calendar “Architecture and Special Buildings”.
