Jean Poulit re-elected

April 15th 2005: Jean Poulit was unaniously welcomed by EUROGI Board to continue for another two years. In his speech, he promises to guide and serve EUROGI by continuing to focus on three blocks:
1. Datasets (INSPIRE)
2. Applications (GMES/Galileo)
3. User Access (eGovernment, PSI)

Description of Presidential Activities

As of the closing date, 1 candidates name was received - that of our present President, Jean Poulit. It was submitted by AFIGéO France and seconded by CC Belgium and HunAGI in Hungary.

Subject: Election - EUROGI President 2005-2007

 

Dear EUROGI Members,

 

At the next Annual General Board meeting to be held April 14-15 2005 in Luxembourg, election of the President of EUROGI will take place. This will be in accordance with the EUROGI BYLAWS, "CHAPTER 2 ELECTIONS" section I 'Election of President".

 

As stated in article 7, a President is allowed to serve two consecutive 2-year terms as President of EUROGI.

 

All FULL (A-members) members of EUROGI may propose a candidate for the position of President, as long as permission of that candidate is obtained and is seconded by at least two other FULL members.

 

This must be done 8 weeks prior to the board meeting (closing date: 18 February 2005) in writing to the Secretary General. He will formally announce all candidates at least 4 weeks prior (18 March 2005) via Email.

Step 1:             Consider whether to put forward a candidate.

 

Step 2:             If YES then invite nominations with manifesto.

 

Step 2B:             If NO then await the outcome of the nomination period (18/2/05).

 

Step 3:             Consider who will attend the AGM

 

Step 4:            Consider for whom will they vote.
