Secretary General – Simon Vrečar

GI Expert, participating as a project manager and consultant with years of experience in the fields of information technology, geographic information, education and european funds and grants on projects in Slovenia and abroad, where link together partners from the business, government and research community. He’s been a member of the team supporting the setting up of national spatial data infrastructure in Slovenia. Recently he’s been active in Danube Civil Society Forum supporting Open Government priciples, he’s chairing the technical committee for GI at national standardisation body and consulting to Joint Research Centre on ELISE – Geospatial solution action under the ISA² programme.

Legal and Financial Adviser – Bino Marchesini

Bino Marchesini trained as a lawyer at the University of Leiden. He began his career in the private sector (public relations) and after a few years, he joined the Dutch Kadaster, where he has remained for more than twenty years. He gave an important contribution to the initial establishment of the Dutch national GI association (RAVI) where he wrote several reports to the government. He was Secretary to the Kadaster’s Executive Board, and as a director responsible for advising the Board on political developments, communication and legal affairs. From 2002 until end 2005 he was Secretary General of EUROGI. He represented EUROGI within the EC and at international meetings, was at the origins of developing the EGIN, European Geographic Information Network with all major European GI-organisations, and played a major role in broadening EUROGI’s membership scheme. He is the Legal and administrative officer of EUROGI.
